21 Gold for Team Bajothang

The team Bajothang led by Lop Tshering Gyeltshen and Ms. Sangay Lhaden that represented our school in Secondary Schools Sports Meet in Gaselo did us proud with 21 Gold, 9 Silver and 8 Bronze in Track and Field Events. They also brought home  Boys Winners Football Cupand Girls Basketball Runners Up Cup.

School Marathon 2013

School Annual Marathon is held today, with over 160 students taking part in the race. Senior Boys ran 16 km- from school ground to Khuruthang and back to school ground while junior boys and senior girls ran 10 km- from school ground to Samthang and back to school ground. Junior girl ran 8 km.

School Singing Contest 2013

Organized and promoted by Lopen Kinley Dorji, Bajo Sung Kay Dendur, the singing competitions among students for 2013 has begun and 20 best were chosen from the Audition Round. These children will perform every week in the school hall after school hours to gain popularity and audience votes. The format of competetion is an imitation from national singing competetions where entry into next round is decided by scores from judges and votes from live audiance.
The Grand Finale will be held on the School Foundation where the winner will be decided purely based on audience vote.

The school level singing was introduced in 2009 by Mr. Ugyen Dorji and his class. The current version under then name of Bajo Sungkay was transformed and by Mr. Kinley and has run for two seasons now.

First Club Exhibition Spells Success

Thursday, 18th October 2012: The school hall filled with excitement right from the morning. Children were walking in and out hurriedly. They were preparing for the first ever Club exhibition in the school. Mrs. Deki, our new vice principal, who takes care of club matters in the school gave birth to this idea and had made the announcement a week ago.
While some sports clubs didn't have much to show beyond some charts of rules and display of sport gears, the exhibition turned out to be a blessing for three clubs in particular;

• Knitting Club could not only display their huge collection of knitted outfits but also were able sell some of their products for handsome price.
• Visual Arts Club would have never been able to show off their massive collection of artworks prepared by its members and the master Hemlal himself.
• and finally Home Science club saw this as yet another good opportunity to generate income by selling mouthwatering dishes like they have been doing every Wednesday throughout the year.

Science Club had its own solo exhibition way back in summer from where the winning entry were selected for regional level competition.

Appreciating Academic Excellence

Rationale

•       In order to recognize and encourage the students to pursue excellence in academics, the school administration decides to award the following awards to our students.  Since the school has classes ranging from VII to XII it is not very practical to consider all the levels at par with one another. Therefore, it is decided to have three levels.

•       The three levels are: LSSCE Level for VII and VIII, BCSE Level for IX and X, and BHSEC for XI and XII

•       The list of award winners will be maintained on the Academic Honour Roll Board with their photographs.

•       This award is initiated to give due recognition to those who have done very well in the mid term examination.

Category of Awards

Overall Toppers

•       There will be only one topper from each level. In case of ties, both candidates will be eligible for the awards.

•       The toppers will be irrespective of the streams for the BHSEC level.

•       The candidate must have passed in all the subjects.

•       The marks in each subject is inclusive of the continual assessment

Subject Toppers

—  One student for each subject scoring the highest mark in that particular subject from the particular level.

—  It will be for all the levels

—  Student must get minimum of 75% to be eligible.

—  In case of ties, both candidates will be eligible

—  The student must pass in all the papers

—  The marks in each subject is inclusive of the continual assessment

Principal’s Certificate of Honours

—  Overall aggregate should be 80% and above

—  The candidates should pass in all the papers.

—  All the eligible candidates will be entitled to get this award

—  The marks in each subject is inclusive of the continual assessment

Institute Certificate of Honours

—  All the students securing minimum of 75% to 79.9% will be eligible for this certificate.

—  The candidates must have passed in all the papers separately.

—  The marks in each subject is inclusive of the continual assessment

Certificate of Perfect Attendance

—  A certificate of perfect attendance will be awarded to those students who do not miss any instructional day during the academic year.

—  The certificate will be awarded twice: one before midterm and one after midterm, to encourage students to come to school regularly.

—  Students on official duty will be considered for the attendance certificate.

—  Any form of leaves will not be considered for the award.

Recognition

—  All the students who fulfill any of the above mentioned criteria are eligible for Khadar and certificate ceremony with the faculty of Bajothang HSS.

—  An invited guest will grace the occasion and do the honour.
