Student Leave Policy


1. All students are expected to have regular attendance in the lessons, club activities and other school programs.  In case any student is unable to attend school, the following are to be observed:
a) Students unable to come to school must send a leave letter stating the reason, which should  be counter signed by his/ her parent with contact number of parents be submitted to the concerned class teacher.
b) The class teacher concerned will need to make inquiries if a student is found missing class for more than 3 days, and be aware of what is the problem if not the teacher need to inform the school authority.
c) A student’s prolonged absence due to domestic problems and medical case will need to be informed by the class teacher to the school authority followed by joining application counter signed by parent/guardian and enclose copy of medical certificate (for medical reasons)
d) Student once registered with the Bhutan Board Of Examination will not be allowed to drop the examination unless that student is seriously sick and admitted in the hospital. Students dropping without information will forfeit the school leaving certificate.
e) Students falling sick in class and going for further treatment or going home should write application to the Principal through the class teacher.
2. A student’s absence for more than 10 days without any information will be considered as left school for good.
3. The class teachers will maintain the regular attendance of the class and the log book shall also be maintained by the class captains and the remarks of the student’s absence/inquiries endorsed with the signature of the subject teacher is mandatory for each period.
4. The log book will be submitted to the Principal’s office at the end of each day’s class and collected before the assembly the next day for regular maintenance for each subject taught.  The Staff Secretary will carry out the same work during Vice Principal’s absence. Finished or page completed log book has to be submitted to office for future record.
5. Any student visiting the BHU will do so during the lunch time after obtaining the visiting permit from the Health In charge in the health book countersigned by the Class teacher. On arrival from hospital the student will report back to the class teacher and be present for class.
6. Students unable to attend the assembly must get permission from the Health In charge and stay in the room below the staff room. No one will be allowed to stay in the class room.
7. All students should have 90% in all subjects or otherwise will not be permitted to sit for the annual examinations. The class teachers are required to submit the attendance percentage worked out before the final examinations.
Feel free to talk/clarify matters or spell out the problems with the teachers, Vice Principals and Principal.
